Heian No Mori Kyoto

I was there 6 nights for a conference near Heian shrine. Location was reasonably convenient for my conference. The hotel is not fancy, and the staff only speak a little english (but we got by OK). My room although small and with a view of a carpark was comfortable and had everything I needed. There's a supermarket over the road and a Lawson's convenience store less than 5 mins walk to your right as you go out the entrance (good option for an ATM). I didn't use the restaurant, or the public bath house (my Japanese friend said the bath house was fine except that the lights were too bright). Aircon and wifi were fine unlike the reports from other reviewers.

The staff is very friendly. Reception is opened 24h. Room was very clean with good air conditioning. Nice and quiet place.

Very close to the Chabad of Kyoto. Easy transport options to the rest of the city.
